Frequently Asked Questions

Are you a registered NDIS provider?

Yes. JH Mentoring is a registered NDIS provider and can support self-managed, plan-managed and NDIA-managed participants.

What areas do you service?

JH Mentoring services Adelaide and Greater Adelaide, including the Adelaide Hills, southern suburbs and northern suburbs.

What age groups do you support?

We support participants of all ages.

For social groups, we are working toward clearer age-based options, including under-18 social opportunities and adult social groups.

What is your minimum shift length?

Our minimum shift length is 2 hours. Typical support sessions are usually 3–6 hours, depending on participant needs, goals, funding and staff availability.

Do you currently have capacity?

At this stage, JH Mentoring has capacity across Adelaide and Greater Adelaide, with no formal waitlist. Service commencement depends on participant needs, location, funding, mentor matching and how quickly required information can be gathered.

Do you provide personal care?

Yes. JH Mentoring can provide personal care support, including hygiene, manual handling and in-home

personal support, where this is within the participant’s support needs, documented arrangements and our scope of service.

Do you provide medication support?

Medication support can be provided where it is included in the participant’s documented support

arrangements, medication management plan, staff training and JH Mentoring’s scope of service.

Do you provide transport?

Yes. JH Mentoring can provide transport in staff vehicles where agreed.

Kilometres are claimed in line with provider transport arrangements and the participant’s service

agreement.

Do you provide cleaning?

JH Mentoring is not a formal cleaning service.

However, we can support participants with household tasks such as tidying, sorting, basic cleaning, meal preparation and routines, either by working alongside the participant or assisting where appropriate.

Do you support behaviours of concern?

Yes, where appropriate planning, information, staffing and training are in place.

Where a participant has a Behaviour Support Plan, JH Mentoring works closely with behaviour practitioners

to support consistent implementation and staff preparation.

Do you support participants with complex mental health needs?

JH Mentoring supports participants with a range of mental health needs on a case-by-case basis.

Our intake process helps determine whether the right information, planning, staff match and safeguards are in place.

Do you provide high-intensity or nursing supports?

JH Mentoring does not generally provide high-intensity or nursing supports unless specifically arranged and

within our scope of service.

Are you a crisis response service?

No. JH Mentoring is not a crisis response service.

Where urgent safety concerns are present, emergency services or appropriate crisis supports should be contacted.

Can new participants join Sunday Socials?

Sunday Socials are available to existing JH Mentoring participants or new participants who complete a

simplified intake process. This ensures we have emergency contacts, risk information, support needs and funding arrangements before group supports begin.

Do Sunday Socials require RSVP?

Yes. Sunday Socials operate on an RSVP basis so participants can choose activities that suit their interests,

energy, goals and availability. RSVP also helps us plan staffing, support ratios, transport and activity suitability.

Do you provide short term respite?

Yes. JH Mentoring provides planned short term respite, including seasonal group experiences and 1:1 respite arranged case by case.

How long does intake take?

Where suitable, we aim to move from referral to service commencement within approximately two weeks.

This may vary depending on participant complexity, information gathering, funding, risk planning, mentor

matching and meeting availability.
